Characteristics of optical fiber technology development
1., the development of the network puts forward new requirements for the optical fiber
The next generation network (NGN) raises many points of view and debates. Some experts predict that, regardless of how the development of next generation network, some will reach three, namely the wireless world service level of the IP world, the light transmission level and the level of access to the world. The next generation transmission network requires higher speed and greater capacity, which is the most important part of the non optical fiber network. But the development of high-speed backbone transmission also puts forward new requirements for the optical fiber.
(1) expanding the transmission capacity of a single wavelength
